The question under the question

Almost nobody books a first call and says the true thing out loud. They say: I want more clarity about my career. I want to manage stress better. I want to be more disciplined.
Those are real. But they are also the socially acceptable version of something rawer: I don't recognise my own life anymore. I am tired of performing. I am afraid I chose wrong and it's too late.
My work in a session is not to force the raw sentence out of you. It's to make the room safe enough that it comes out on its own — usually in the second half, usually quietly, usually after a pause you were tempted to fill.
So if you're preparing for a call and you don't know how to phrase it, don't polish it. Bring the messy version. That's the one we can actually work with.
